Touch is Sacred is our Mantra

Sacred Touch Bodywork is an evolving and expanding wellness hub for all aspects of the body. We strive to promote a sacred touch by incorporating the world's indigenous wellness practices, in all that we do whether it be physical,, mental or spiritual.

Candace Mickens is the owner and lead practitioner. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Reiki Master & Sarga Bodywork Practitioner. She has over a 1,000 hours of bodywork training and has studied Thai Massage in Thailand and several bodywork modality rom different teachers across the US and Africa.

Bodywork

The foundational services are in the area of massage therapy and bodywork with a focus on Thai Massage which is done fully clothed, on a mat on the floor. Deep Tissue and Swedish Massage is also offered which is on the table with the use of oil or cream. Sarga bodywork which is a barefoot myofascial release technique is a specialty offering as well as Lomi Lomi. Both are table based and you can learn more under services.

Reiki, Yoga, Couples & Group Workshops

Sacred Touch Body Work offers fun interactive Couples & Group Workshops that explore aspects of touch in fun, profound, interactive ways.

Sacred Touch is also certified to train students in Naturopathic Reiki and regular teaches in small intimate groups in person and on line.

Sacred Touch practitioners also teaches yoga classes & joins forces with other local wellness practitioners to host special workshops that aid in healing the body in all its many layers and subtle forms. These practitioners are gifted in the areas of Qi Gong, Meditation, Essential Oils, Herbal Medicine,Plant Based Cooking,Juicing and more.

Health PROTOCOLS

Sacred Touch follows Guidelines by the State Massage Therapy Board

By its very nature, massage and bodywork requires skin-to-skin contact and you should be familiar with the fact that infection control has always been a top priority for my practice. As we navigate life with additional requirements and modify existing measures due to the coronavirus, please help me to support all of my clients by cooperating with some new requirements.

My practice follows Practice Guidelines recommended by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB), along with infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

What to expect

I will send a electronic health intake beforehand as I have always done, to obtain updates to your health information but now the intake form asks you specifically about your potential exposure to COVID-19.
When you arrive for your appointment, I msy ask that you have your mask on when I answer the door. The mask must be worn throughout the entire time on the premises. I have found that the disposable, medical style of masks are easier to breathe in but wear whatever type of mask you desire except the plastic face shield which does not cover the mouth and will make lying down problematic. I will also have a mask on the entire time. If you forget your mask, I have a limited supply of disposable masks but you will be charged $5

All clients must contact me via text @240-351-41498 or email sacredtouchbw@gmail.com for a appointment. ONLINE SELF APPOINTMENTS HAVE BEEN TEMPORARILY DISCONTINUED FOR ALL CLIENTS. This is necessary to adequately space appointments for my safety and yours and a attempt to be flexible in scheduling, as appointments are very limited during this time. Please plan ahead as there may be a wait list.
